Wang Huaxiang

 This woodcut was printed using oil based ink. The artist has achieved a variety of textural effects by cutting the block in different ways. He has also combined the outline image of a man with calligraphy and with what appears to be a flag obscuring his eyes.

 

The artist belongs to the Yi minority. He studied at, and now teaches at the Cental Academy of Fine Arts.
