Chen Haiyan

Chen Haiyan is an innovative and individual artist who often uses her dreams as the subject matter of her work. Here she has combined a dramatic image with calligraphy (both black against white and white against black) The effect is spontaneous and dynamic.

 
She trained at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Art, where she became deputy head of printmaking. Her work is included in collections in Los Angeles, Portland (Oregon) and the British Museum.
